Working Fire Destroys Home in Gilbert / Maricopa County, Family Displaced

A fast-moving house fire caused major damage to a home near 154th Street and the area of South Maricopa Road Friday evening.

Firefighters were dispatched around 5:00 p.m. to reports of a working residential fire at a home in the 13200 block of South 154th Street. Crews arrived to find heavy fire conditions and quickly launched an aggressive attack to prevent the flames from spreading.

Multiple fire companies responded to the scene, bringing the blaze under control.

The residence suffered extensive damage and is considered a total loss. No immediate information on injuries was available.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
