Gilbert Firefighters Battle House Fire After Heavy Smoke Found Inside Garage

Around 7:50 p.m., Gilbert Police and Gilbert Fire & Rescue responded to a reported house fire in the area of 1049 N. Nielson St.

When the Battalion Chief arrived on scene, no smoke or flames were immediately visible from outside the home. The Battalion Chief directed a ladder company to open the garage.

Once firefighters accessed the garage, they discovered heavy smoke and flames inside. A working fire response was called, and firefighters deployed approximately two to three hose lines to attack the fire.

Firefighters remained on scene working to extinguish the blaze. Additional information about the cause of the fire and whether anyone was injured was not immediately available.
