Breaking News: Deadly State Route 24 Crash Near Signal Butte

Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that left one person dead and 11 others injured Sunday morning near Signal Butte and State Route 24 Gateway Freeway interchange in the East Valley.

The crash happened just before 8:45 a.m. on May 24 near Signal Butte Road on the overpass leading onto State Route 24, also known as the Gateway Freeway, according to early emergency radio traffic and scene information.
Officials say one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Five additional patients suffered critical injuries, while six others sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Multiple ambulance crews responded under Code 3 emergency conditions due to the severity of the incident. Several victims were transported to local trauma centers, while others were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved or confirmed what caused the crash. Prime News Network believes only 2 cars were involved.
Traffic in the area was significantly impacted as crews worked to assist victims and investigate the scene.
