Mesa Police Investigating Shooting Near Greenfield Road and US-60; One Man Injured

At approximately 2:30 p.m., Mesa Police Department officers responded to the area of Greenfield Road and the US-60 freeway regarding a reported shooting involving occupants of two vehicles.

According to Mesa Police, one adult male sustained an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. The man drove himself to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries has not yet been released.

Investigators have located the involved parties, and police report there is no known ongoing threat to the community.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.

Greenfield Road was temporarily closed in both directions at the US-60 freeway but has since reopened.

Mesa Police investigators were also reported to be in the area of Center Street and McKellips Road as part of the ongoing investigation.
