1 Dead, 1 Critical After Crash In Gilbert

Gilbert Police are investigating a fatal collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle at the intersection of Queen Creek and Recker roads.

The crash occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. and involved two adult riders on the motorcycle. One rider was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second rider was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.

Gilbert PD’s Traffic Reconstruction Team will be conducting the investigation.

The intersection is expected to remain closed for an extended period while investigators work the scene.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
